Had a good day yesterday. Hiked with Jan at Rainbow Rocks in the morning and then we took a loop trail through the woods that I hadn't been on for a long time. It's not a marked trail. Just a path through the woods where long ago a defunct pipeline used to go. Jan is a trooper though and willing to go on these searches for trails in the woods. I was with Jan years ago when we first found the wisp of a trail. She doesn't remember it but I do.  She was trusting me that the trail was there and thank goodness it was. We got back to the access road without too much flailing around in the woods. Here's some more pictures of the Rainbow Rocks, some with trees crawling on them:

The ancient Indian petroglyphs. Hard to see now because of stupid modern people having to put their marks there too.

Here's a link to what they used to look like.

Some modern person played around and carved an elephant.

Jan.

Cascading roots.

Organic looking.

Standing on tip toes.

Reclining.

River of root.

I just liked the look of the shadow pattern.

Afterwards we ate at Valley Dairy. I had French toast with peaches, cream cheese filling and whipped cream with coffee. Calorie overload, but yum.

Today I'm going to try and get a appointment to get the oil changed in Brownie. Dave wants an oil change for his truck too so I'm going to try and get the appointments back to back if I can.

rainbow rocks, jan
