I went to bed very early last night - 6 pm. Thought I was just going to take a nap. Didn't expect to sleep all night. I did wake at 3:30 and was up for about 10 minutes and then back to sleep till 4:30. I feel nicely rested now. I had some kind of a dream about being in a school or college and trying to search for something. A common dream for me.

Yesterday during a break in the rain Dave and walked the dogs down to the lake. Pictures:

I became enthralled by the bright beads of water on things.

Guess what this is.

The whole turtle shell.

Underneath - kind of gross.

An interesting rock. I should have brought it home. I left it right by the turtle shell. Maybe next time I'll get it.

The lake had some ice on it a few days ago but it's mostly gone now.

One spot of thin ice left behind. Dave noticed that when you threw a rock through it it formed bubbles that spread out slowly and worked their way outward and then popped very quickly at the edge. Andy drinking water. I guess to help him wash down the turtle bones he had been eating. We yelled at him to stop but he just starts to chew faster and swallow things whole when you do that.

I like looking at the farm across the way framed by limbs and vines.

There were about 200 geese on the lake today. Looking towards Jules' house.

We walked underneath where an eagle was perched. There were 2 on the limb originally but as we got closer the smaller one (the male) flew away. They really are using the nest that they had been building. Before she flew to this limb to watch us she had been sitting in the nest. We will stop walking this route now so we don't disturb them anymore.

Questions:
What movie would be greatly improved if made into a musical?
Not a good question for me. It seems I don't retain much about movies after I watch them. Or I do for a few days (hours) then I forget. I'm not a good movie reviewer at all. I remember as a kid how much I disliked musicals. Oh no, not another song to slow things down! Now I can appreciate the songs more just as songs.

What do you always take with you when you leave the house?
Always: keys (car and house), phone. Depending on where I'm going I might take other things. Like if I'm going on a long hike then napkins (in case I have to pee), water bottle, a snack bar, my hiking stick. If it's really cold I take an extra pair of gloves, a thin foam pad (cut up yoga mat) that I use to sit on if things are wet. I take my camera most of the time but not all the time.

To do today:
I'm supposed to help Hazel move today. She's moving down to Evans City to rent a room from a friend of a friend. She already has a job lined up at Dave and Buster's. I hope it works out for her. I'm in the mode of trying to let go of things. Mind my own business. That's harder to do with your kids and grandkids. The younger they are the more you think they can use advice. Hazel at age 22 does not want my advice. I work hard to keep my mouth shut and most the time I do a pretty good job. I try to remember that at age 22 I was doing basically the same kind of stuff she's doing and it all worked out in the end.

eagles, rain drops, hazel, andy, video, lake, ice bubbles
