I finished painting all the backgrounds just now. I was going to use alcohol inks for this but it's just too complicated so I reverted to my old favorite style of working and used watercolors. But since I already have the special polyester papers for alcohol ink now and the alcohol inks I think I will use that on the filler pages in the book. Just splash it on. See how that goes. Thinking about a title. A title shapes a book, an artwork, or a poem. Once you put a title on something it can change everything. I'm thinking this book is going to be a very long term project. Many, many more pages than the one I just did (Thoughts on Life and Death). I think I will bind it in my usual old Coptic binding style so it can have more pages. Maybe this will become my new kind of Everything Book but different - smaller and more concentrated. I like that I don't know what I'm doing yet. Options are open. I'm still exploring.

An alcohol ink filler page. Random. I do like how this one turned out.

I had my etsy shop in vacation mode since June when I went to Florida. I guess I assumed that everything would be on hold and no extra fees would accumulate while I was on vacation but I found out this morning that isn't so. Things get renewed and renewal fees are charged even if the shop isn't "open". So I went ahead and took it out of vacation mode today.

I think I have settled some of the camera and lens questions I was having. I'm really not going to be lugging a big camera around everywhere I go. The other day just going to the lake I was annoyed at carrying it. I don't need a bigger camera. They have phones now that have multiple lenses - one for close up, one for landscape, one for portrait - or something like that. I am willing to carry a phone. Maybe I will look into shopping for a better phone. My money would be better spent on that. Plus my old Motorola phone is getting laggy. It never was known for being a phone with a great camera. Anyway. I can always get out my big girl camera when I want but buying a bigger big girl camera might not be the right thing to do. Oh what the heck! Now I'm talking myself back into it. If I'm going to lug the big camera SOMEtimes then I could lug an even bigger camera SOMEtimes.

Bonus pic - just because I've been trying out the look of the lenses and camera that I have already:

The clematis flower is getting old and discolored now. The plant only had one flower. It's a very spindly vine. I used the 18mm to 55mm lens. The lens that originally came with the camera, and it's a pretty good lens!
