Jan and I hiked at Two Mile this morning. The same trail that Candy and I did on Monday. Today was colder though and the snow was very crunchy and hard. When I got home I had a quick lunch and then Dave and I went to Meadville to do some shopping, plus he wanted to check Pymatuning Lake to see if it was frozen yet and if people were ice fishing. We took the dogs along. Some pictures:
Big Rock from another angle - doesn't look at all like a boat from here. Or maybe it does...
Jan :-)
I hadn't noticed this tree before. It was like it was reaching out to suck on Big Rock - attached itself to the rock. The tree had died and now the tree was breaking apart but it was still stuck to the rock.
I liked how the ice in this puddle had bumps on it. Each bump had a circle of white snow dust around it. And there were some ghost foot prints too.
This was taken at Pymatuning. It looks like foamy waves were crashing on the shoreline but that is solid ice. There is a rock laying on the frozen surface on the left. There was only one person out on the lake ice fishing - not shown in this picture.
A puzzle - try and spot Rainy. She blends into the brown rocks very well, and she's small.
It's supposed to be in the teens tonight so I turned the heater on in the chicken coop. Thought it would be nice for them. The last time it was below 20 I put the heater on and I checked it in the morning - it was 40F in there. That would be a nice temperature - for a chicken.
