The question:
28 Do you usually make a special effort to thank someone who does you a favor? How do you react when you aren't thanked for going out of your way for someone?
I do usually make an effort to be thankful and to mention it to the person who did the favor. Most the time I don't do anything if someone else isn't thankful in my direction but I have tried to bring my kids and grandkids up to remember to thank others. Remind them. I have heard later that they think I "guilt them". Oh well.

The other writing prompts:

27. raindrops
Raindrops keep falling on my head...
More like snow drops right now.
I have tried to have a different attitude about rain since I started reading books about people walking the Appalachian Trail. They might stop and take a time out during a heavy rain but for light showers they keep going. If you have the right clothes you can handle anything I tell myself. Dave got me a really good rain coat and I have waterproof boots now. I'm ready. I have gone on lone hikes and enjoyed the rain in my rain gear.

28. to be free
To be free of this mental anguish.
Constantly looking at what I might have done wrong,
what they might have done wrong,
what to say to get them to hear me and see my side of it,
constantly trying to figure out their side of it.
To be free of the obsession with ego.
That is what I want to grow up to do.

No hiking with Candy today. Dave has gone off with a friend hunting. So I'm on my own. Looking forward to getting the final pieces of the octagon blanket pieced together today.
