The question:
4 Have you ever seen a film that you thought was better than the book?
I don't know.
I had a late start with journaling today. I went to bed early and Dave come to bed around 1 am. I asked how it was going and he said he was hoping I wouldn't wake up. I wasn't going to like it. Then I stayed up till about 4 crocheting and watching the last season of Orange Is the New Black. I wish everyone could see that show. Slept in till I heard the chickens on the baby monitor squawking to be let out of their coop. Did that, made breakfast for the grandboys, Dave and myself, and then just had time to get ready to go hiking with Jan and Berdella. Pictures of Falling Run trail:

Today is my dad's birthday. He'd be 111! I miss him. I've been missing him lately. And my mom. Thinking a lot about my mom. She loved politics and would stay up late on the night of the elections. Believed that we had to pay attention to the news and what was going on in the world. Be a good citizen, be a moral person, stand up for the underdog, make decisions with kindness and not selfishness. I was too young (too dumb, too self-centered?) to appreciate all that as a teenager when she was trying to shape me. But I appreciate her now. When the Roots miniseries came on TV in the 70s she insisted I watch it with her.
The music store has decided to close down again as far as music lessons go because of the covid. Too many local cases. I don't want to take my music lessons virtually though so I will be taking a break I guess. Maybe it's for the best. I have a lot to do around here and less piano practice would give me more time.
I started planting the tulips and daffodils after lunch but my hands got sore very quickly using the bulb planter tool. I need to find another method. I don't think I can dig 50 more holes with that tool.
