Dave had his eyepoke day today so to pass the time while he was at the clinic I walked the Meadville Ernst bike trail extension again. Took the DSLR with the Super Takumar lens. I love looking at things through the eye of that lens. Lots and lots of pics: ( HERE... )

Re pics 2 & 3, if I were on that bike trail, I WOULDN'T like how it looks like a big black snake, lol. Great pics as usual, though...

Thanks! I never saw a thing like that before. Wish I knew its purpose.

That's OK, my grandson and I have recently invested in new ROAD bikes--not the skinny tire kind, but hybrids which will typically be ridden where there are no snakes, lol.

(I have nothing against snakes, per se, although my sympathies have always sort of leaned towards Eve in THAT story.)...

Yeah, we'd been waiting for a pair of rooftop carriers to come in so we could get the bikes home, and we picked those up today--along with Thule's assurance that they'd fit the factory load bars on the Subaru.

We've also had a pallet--loaded with platform framing and a cheapo Suncast bike shed--sitting at the back of our driveway while we waited for some warmer, drier, less-windy weather to set it up. (If I were a framing carpenter these days, my wife and kids would be starving, lol.)

But we got the carriers mounted this afternoon and hope to pick up the bikes tomorrow and will just carry them to and from the basement until the shed is up.

And we're both definitely stoked for this!

Looks like a Suncast shed shouldn't be too time consuming to put together. Cool! I like the idea of having the bikes stored outside and more available to get out. We have our bikes in the basement and it is a process to open the garage doors (make sure Andy can't get down into the basement first so he can't escape) and get them out to the car.

I'm really excited for you and your grandson! You'll have a great time together.
