Dave and his new tractor before we started. It was only barely drizzling when we left Deb's and not bad. Going so slow it was a bit boring and taking pictures was something to do. Three pics of the types of roads we were on:
On the little road that runs beside French Creek. Foggy and misty. With all the rain we have been having the creek is high and muddy. When we got to Utica we stopped at Crabby Kelly's. A new little store that neither of us had been to yet. It was kind of like a bar in that you could buy alcohol - beer and cold wine from a fridge and you could buy cold sandwiches too. A self-service bar. They had stools to sit on and a nice view with big windows looking out on the river. There was a display of Trump hats in the corner. I was going to ask if she was a fan but then thought - do I really want to talk about that? They had the usual candy and a few groceries so it might be a place to get something quick. They serve Keurig coffee. I got one but then the cream I put in it was bad so Kelly gave me a new, black coffee for free. She was a really friendly person.
The 2 lane road from Utica to 322. If a car came behind us I honked the horn so Dave would know and we pulled over farther to make it easy for them to pass us. The tractor went a steady 10 MPH so it took about an hour and a quarter in all to do the 12 miles. After we left Crabby Kelly's it started to really rain.
On 322 the berm was wide enough we could just stay off the road and let traffic pass. When we got home Dave took a hot shower to warm up. He was soaked through.
