name and "problems"
15 If you could pick a new first name, what would you choose?
I have thought about changing my name, or using a different name sometimes. Because my totem bird is the wood thrush I wanted to riff off that. Sylvia Vogel. Sylvia for "forest" and Vogel for "bird" (in German). People might call me Syl for short. I'd like that.
I dreamed last night that I was going to help an old man get his laptop back on the internet. It was working fine when he got it and he had become popular with some friends because they could come over and use it for the internet but then something happened to it and it didn't connect to the internet anymore and his friends stopped coming around. He was lonely. The old man of the dream was Al. An old guy we used to know. Actually he was the preacher that married Dave and me. But as he got older he lost his mind and got funny ideas. He became abusive to his wife. He was a small farmer and was neglectful of his animals too. Not a good situation. He broke his leg and while he was in the hospital his wife left him and his house burned down. He had nowhere to go when he got out of the hospital and we took him in. He accused us of things like stealing his wallet when really he had hid it under his bed. Anyway. It's interesting to me that I chose him to play a role in my dream. I haven't thought of him in years. I do have a problem with my laptop that I'm trying to figure out. It will only print in black and white now. I feel like Al (a Luddite) in that I'm stumped on how to fix it. I don't know enough to make big changes - I'm afraid I will really mess something up. At least it will print (black and white) and I don't want to lose that. And if I really want something in color I can print it from my phone. In the dream I got on the internet (somehow) to look up how to fix Al's computer. So I'm doing that this morning with my laptop printing problem.
Another problem is that I have a piano lesson at the same time I need to drive Hazel to work today. Hopefully Dave will be able to help me out with that. I'll ask him when he gets up....
