disappointed...
The director of the shelter just called to say that they took Rainy's puppies to the vet yesterday and the 2 little girls could use some more time with their mother to get a better start. The little boy is big enough (he hogs the milk) and they will find a home for him right away. Without him there the girls will do better. She said that since she had promised that I could get Rainy today that I could do that and that would be okay. What was I to say? I want the puppy girls to prosper! Anyway, the director says that it is a FIRM promise that I can pick Rainy up next Friday at noon. Now I have another week to obsess and imagine what it will be like to have another dog in the mix.
I woke up at 3 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. Just to get my mind clear this morning I called Candy to see if she might want to go on a bike ride - and she did. We just got back from a ride to Oil City. The heat wave has broken and it was actually cool. It will be good to get the windows open again. Now that I'm home and there is no doggy pickup scheduled I think it will be nap time.
