Got dressed and washed the dishes.
Checked out the wedding book that I finished sewing together last night. I put a pile of heavy books on it overnight. It was flatter this morning just like I hoped it would be.
Called Kathy to hear about the preparations they are making for the arrival of Irma this weekend. It is so hard to believe that right here things are so calm (and boring) and not that far away on planet earth things are tragic and frightening. Talked of that and other things - the upcoming trip Jules and I and his boys will be making to Florida in October. As we usually do we talked for over an hour.
Got the mail. We got a movie I wanted to watch: Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Ate lunch - leftover yellow rice with peas and baked beans - watched the movie - funny.
Took Andy for a short walk around the yard using the belly-cinch leash method - all went very well - which is kind of amazing compared with how much trouble it used to be to walk him on a leash. I still don't totally trust it can be this easy yet.
It started raining.
Went to my room to putter with jewelry and to internet - ordered a new electric power strip with 4 USB outlets, a button that says "Make America Kind Again" and new rubber mallets for my tongue drum.
Sunshine outside my window now. Bright yellow goldfinches are busy at the feeder.
Time to start making dinner. I'd like to have it ready for Dave when he gets home from the woods tonight.
