Arjuna, Thesis

Arjuna is really, really well-done. It's well-written, the mix of themes is excellent, the themes are well-handled, and the animation is absolutely beautiful. I'm not sure if it's hand-drawn or CG or what, but it looks amazing. Oh, and the music's by Yoko Kanno. I am, of course, downloading the soundtrack as I type this. It very definitely lives up to the billing of "a magical girl series for adults", especially with the relentless attention it pays to spirituality and environmentalism.

I have no idea how everyone else is going to like it. It's nowhere near as accessible as Aquarion, which has a lot of stuff even if you don't get all the philosophy and such. Like the Certain Kill Moon Surface Punch! Arjuna's a lot more talky.

My basic 802.11 simulation implementation seems to work. At least for the very basic two-nodes-yelling case. Tomorrow I get to write more complicated test cases. Go me! Then, after a little more tweaking (logging, that kind of thing), I get to actually start on the implementation of stuff relevant to my thesis.

Nintendo is evil. Twilight Princess has, fortunately, been pushed back to the fall. But they're releasing so much good stuff for the DS. Like the new Mario game. Jeremy Parish's blog (one of the writers for 1Up) describes the likely results.

Faith has some pages from her new comic effort up. It looks awesome - alternate history wild west with swords and a very badass pair of characters. Details in this demonology101 post.

The Devil's Panties is a very fun comic.
