Someone was asking me about the supplements I've been taking as migraine preventatives. I realized I hadn't posted my list. It's been one of those: nah it can't really be working and well maybe it works for me because I'm making up for deficiencies caused by the antibiotic I've been taking since July, maybe it only works for me, maybe my symptoms have been from the antibiotic all along, maybe it hasn't been the cyst. Regardless, the supplements have been helping my migraines and since that's the only thing the neuros believe in, well here's my list.
Be sure to check with your doc to make adjustments for your age and weight, etc. I'm a full-grown 36 year-old with a 11 x 9 x 7 mm pineal gland cyst. My cyst has septation and has expanded my pineal gland from the inside, so the gland and the cyst are one in the same. My MRI from December shows it's not touching anything, no blockage in CSF, no nothing.
The supplements I'm taking are supposed to be the easiest to digest and absorb. I got a lot of my info from Teri Robert's migraine supplement info. The neurologist that mentioned supplements as migraine preventatives said there were case studies and clinical trials for them, but not all of them together. He didn't give me copies of his research. Just a scribbled scrap.
I've also started allergy shots to see if they'll help with my migraines and fluctuating hearing. From a wheal allergy test, I ended up with 37 allergies. I figured it wouldn't hurt. But I don't know if it's the vitamins or allergy shots helping me or both!
I'm taking a multiple from Country Life 1 g calcium citrate + 500 mg magnesium oxide/citrate + 400 IU D3 cholecalciferol daily. Country Life Maxi C-Complex time release 1 g Vit C as ascorbic acid and rose hips with lemon bioflavonoids, orange bio, grapefruit bio, hesperidin and rutin daily. Healthy Origins CoQ10 300 mg daily. Vitamin Shoppe B2 100 mg daily. Prescription B6 due to the antibiotic 50 mg daily (did I mention the antibiotic was hell?). Source Naturals B12 as methyl cobalamin sublingual tablets 1 mg daily. Eskimo-3 fish oil 1â3 softgels daily.
