(no subject)
hello from Fort Lauderdale, FL... nice and hot and verrryyyy humid here. i got to bring the laptop... yay. and this hotel room we're in (dont have to be on the boat til this afternoon.. so we flew down yesterday in order to avoid the possibility of missing the boat.. haha) has free internet access. i'm so glad i brought my ethernet cable. i was thisclose to leaving it at home, figuring the only way i'd be able to get on would be through wireless. ah well. i've already taken some pictures.. nothing special though. i'll transfer/upload them once i have some more interesting ones.
our plane got delayed for a bit yesterday. we were supposed to take off at 6:30.. and well.. we got on the plane at like 7:10, then had to wait around for a bit cause there were a shitload of other planes that had to take off before us. got off the ground at about 8. it was a pretty good flight. i wanted to take pics out the window but i was on the aisle.. damn. i got one but its kinda crappy. ah well. but yeah.. pretty good flight, although as we were over.. uhh.. maybe Virginia (??) we saw a bunch of lightning off to the righthand side of the plane (to the west). it was awesome, cause we were above it. it looked JUST like that part in Fantasia during the Beethoven Pastorale Symphony where Zeus is laying up in the clouds throwing lightning bolts down to the ground. sometimes you could see individual bolts, but most of the time it just looked like someone was flicking yellow/orange lights on down below the clouds. i found it fascinating.. my sister was freaking out, though, afraid we would get struck. i told her that the lightning goes from the clouds *down* but she wasnt very assuaged. ah well.
there was a really cute little girl (baby, i guess) in the airport yesterday. she had a little pink footie thing on.. like pajamas, with the feet.. ya know. but yeah she was really really cute.. i wanted to go up and ask the parents if i could hold her or something. awww.. i love babies :P
anyway.. so yeah, here i am sitting in our hotel room by myself on here.. i'm such a dork. but if i can get online on the cruise, i wanna update on there too. when i went to Paris over Thanksgiving, some of the other girls kept journals.. i dont know about that, since i type like 92857296 faster than i can write. but after i got back from Paris, i kinda wished i'd done that, cause i started forgetting what we did on what days, and all my reactions, etc.
