So, while everyone else in the world is out watching Harry Potter, I am sitting at home curled up and watching Private Practice. *g* So nobody will probably even READ this entry, haha, but oh well

Private Practice is my trainwreck show. It's so unbelievably awful, but I love it anyway! I absolute hate Violet. Haaaaaaate her. I felt they handled Charlotte's attack realistically; Addison's anguish at not being allowed to do the rape kit was well done. And you're right -- never put a guilt trip on a victim. EVER. I have one more ep before I'm totally up to date on PP. How much do you want to bet that we're now set up for a "Charlotte starts drinking and using" storyline?
My stylist told me about a new kind of manicure that's coming out -- shellacking (sp?). Apparently it involves special nail polish and a special UV light, but it bonds the polish to your natural nails and gives you a flawless manicure for at least three weeks. I think I'm going to try it, just to see what it's like. At my very best, I can give myself a manicure that will go for 8-10 days while still looking pretty, but that's with base coat, four coats of color, and a top clear coat. It takes two days just to do!
Those are both gorgeous! I think the first one is especially glamorous for the holidays, though.
My one complaint about glitter polish is that it's hard to get OFF. The polish comes off but the glitter is practically become One With The Nail. Sometimes it helps me if use a non-glitter polish as the "base" with one coat of glitter on top. What's your solution?
Usually with glitter polishes I do one of two things. The first solution is to use pure acetone which will remove just about anything - and to use a cotton ball flush against the nail and then pull smoothly. Usually this will remove all of the polish and glitter in one go.
Acetone is very drying and harsh on nails, however, and not good to spill on clothing or, well, anything. So another solution is to use regular remover and let a cotton ball soaked with it sit on the nail for a few minutes. Then press down and draw towards the tip, and this will usually sweep away the polish rather easily.
