Random & nailpolish

So, while everyone else in the world is out watching Harry Potter, I am sitting at home curled up and watching Private Practice. *g* So nobody will probably even READ this entry, haha, but oh well!

I finally put on nailpolish again this week! This after a hiatus of about a month... I didn't have any new colours, and I just wasn't feeling it. Partly this schedule - I usually do my nails at night, and when I get home at 10, it makes it a bit harder to do them and be satisfied with them before I go to sleep.

So what prompted my rediscovery? OPI, of course. Specifically, two little beauties from the Burlesque collection... Extra-va-vaganza & Simmer and Shimmer.

Extra-va-vaganza is the one I'm wearing so far - and let me tell you, it is gorgeous.

Though this isn't a Christmas polish, it reminds me a bit of one! NM, am an idiot, it is a holiday polish, haha. On me it has hints of a sort of reddish-gold, and a glint of green. There's silver in there too, and sometimes I think I see blue.

*thinks* I can't remember whether I used two or three coats, but it was at least two, to avoid no visible nail line. The one thing I like about most glitter polishes - and OPI is very good at glitter polishes - is that they're fairly newbie-friendly. Sometimes you have to dab a bit to avoid the brush sweeping the glitter off again, but other than that, it goes on easily and it's fairly easy to get good coverage, too.

Without Seche Vite or another topcoat, it's fairly bumpy, and I also find glitters prone to snagging, so I always use topcoat.

Aaaand, here's an example picture of Simmer and Shimmer!

I am really looking forward to trying this baby on :D

Anyway, I'm glad that once again OPI has lured me back into the polish world, haha. I need to stop in and see if there are any others that I want to pick up.

As an aside, on the matter of Private Practice: omg. I do not care WHAT the reasoning is, DO NOT put a freaking guilt trip on a victim!

That is all.
