Just a public service announcement: never trust the guys at, well,
anywhere when they try to tell you your tires are at X depth and need
replacement - in my experience they are ALWAYS lying because they sell
tires. Measure it yourself or ask so done who works on cars but
doesn't sell tires.
Latest example: had a new tire put on in dec 08. Other tires original.
Chad from discount tire just tried to convince me that new tire from
dec 08 was at 4/32nds... Yet 3 months and less than 5k miles ago it
was at 10/32s and in the same 3 months the other tires went down less
than 1/32. Really?
So just to remind people, never ever buy all new tires from the likes
of NTB or discount tire. Buy from tirerack.com and get better
selection and better prices.
Lying manipulative douchbags preying on people when many of them are
under stress. GMAFB.
