i hear so many people talk about eating disorders and people who have them, i just feel the need to talk about it from my point of view.
what do i hear? how ungrateful we are that we can afford food but choose not to eat it. how we should just "eat a hamburger". how we're all a product of society's vision of perfection

In addition, when you don't eat for that many hours at a time your body goes into starvation mode, lowering your metabolism and making it harder for you to burn off what you eventually do eat. The body makes the most of what it is given. Usually by storing everything as fat.
If you really want to lose weight, the answer is not starvation. It is eating much smaller meals(not even the traditional 3...more like 4 or 5...spacing meals like every 3 to 4 hours) several times throughout the day. You should end each mini meal feeling satisfied but not really full. This keeps your blood sugar levels up and your metabolism pumping away. My boss told me that a guy who worked in my physical therapy clinic before lost 250lbs after he started eating more than once a day. I'd switch to diet soda and water to kick the soda habit too, and I don't know what your exercise habits are, but first things first.
I'm in no way saying that any of that would be easy, or that you should take the words of a stranger as perfect, but I just thought I'd give you some info. Hope it helps and keeps you away from trying to become anorexic. Trust me, that is not the way.

But just for the record, when I eat dinner, its not a huge amount. Its a normal size dinner. And then sometimes right before bed, I'll have a snack of some sort. I've been cutting down the sodas for 3 days now (its a start) and I'm doing pretty well.
