Eternally Annoyed

This post has absolutely nothing to do with the actual content of Eternal, so have no fear, there are no spoilers here.

I work for the CW affiliate in my city and we recently combined buildings with the local FOX affiliate. We moved into their building. We have all sorts of new equipment and not all of it is working properly yet. I work for the news and stuff within our newscasts have been messed up because of these equipment malfunctions. I figured that they would have their act together and make sure that the prime-time programming was airing properly. I was wrong.

This afternoon, I watched my recording of America's Next Top Model from Wednesday, and it was all messed up. In the middle of ANTM, they kept cutting to the TMZ TV show and then back to ANTM. At one point, they went to TMZ and then came back to ANTM and replayed a segment that they had JUST PLAYED. This all has to do with Master Control, by the way.

Anyway, I was hoping that the station had its shit together by Thursday. I was wrong about that too. When I sat down to watch SV tonight, I was thoroughly annoyed. Every 3 frames (literally) the video would freeze and then play and then freeze and then play again for 3 more frames, etc...Every time the show went to commercial break, I was hoping that the next segment wouldn't be messed up. Once again, WRONG. Something must have been messed up when they got the feed from the network. For the first minute or two, I was wondering if the freezing thing was some kind of effect that they were using for the teaser. NOPE, just the TV station screwing up. I hope they get lots of angry phone calls about this.

In anticipation of technical mishaps, I asked my parents (who live in FL) to record SV and Supernatural for me in case my recordings were messed up. Thank goodness I had them do that! My iTunes is still messed up so I can't download the episode from there and the episodes from Amazon won't play on iPods. I am not even going to attempt to watch my recording of SPN. I'll just wait until I have my parents' tape. Thank goodness for them and for me asking them to record the show!

Our "new" station has been on the air almost a week now. Get it together people!

In happier news, there's a song that I've been trying to find, literally for years. I didn't know the name or artist though so that made it kind of difficult. :-) Last week, I finally figured out the name of the song and found out who sang it. It wasn't available to download though so I thought I was out of luck, but then I found a used copy of the CD on sale at the Amazon Marketplace for $3. With shipping & handling, it worked out to be about $5 and change. I was perfectly willing to pay that for this one song I've been trying to find for so long. It's a cheesy song from the early 90s called "Do Anything" by Natural Selection. I'm pretty sure that this was their only big hit, but I could be wrong. I'm listening to the rest of the CD now and none of the songs sound familiar (or interesting).

Here's the video for this wonderfully cheesy song:
