The Tall Guy, The Tattletale, and TV Shows

Sep 16, 2008 22:08

So...work stuff- Today I was training someone who normally works at night so I'd never met him before. This guy was super tall. I'm only 5'3". :-) I asked him how tall he was and he said he was 6'4". Of course, my first thought was, "this is what it'd be like to stand next to Tom" (give or take an inch). :-) I've known other guys who are that tall, but I guess it's been awhile since I've been around one of them.

The guy was super chatty (way too chatty for that hour of the morning) and managed to work his height (and his weight which is 240 lbs. in case you're wondering) into the conversation two more times. I was thinking, "Ok dude. I get it. You're huge."

Also, super chatty guy is apparently a conspiracy theorist- talking about how the runways at the Denver airport are in the shape of a swastika and how it wasn't an airplane that hit the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001, but some kind of bomb that perhaps our own government set off. It's all very interesting to listen to, but I don't think I'll be jumping on the conspiracy bandwagon. I'm sure that there are plenty of shady things going on with the government, but as naive and ignorant as this may be, I'd kind of just prefer not to think about it.

One of my fatal flaws is my tendency to be late wherever I'm going, including work. Today was one of the days I overslept and was late for work- so was another one of my co-workers. Apparently one of my other co-workers decided that this needed to be brought to the attention of my boss via email. She claimed that our lateness impeded work getting done which isn't true. This is someone who is absolutely NOT a team player, complains all the time, refuses to work overtime, always wants things done her way and it just generally not a pleasant person to be around. I don't understand why she had to be a tattletale and a bitch. I'll definitely remember this though. She was already kind of "on my list" but now she's shot right to the top of it. Grrr...

Okay, onto the important stuff- TV shows! :-) I thought that last night's Gossip Girl was okay. The scenes between Blair and Chuck were hot, but when I remind myself that they're playing teenagers, sometimes I get a little squicked out. I guess it helps that these actors aren't REALLY in high school but still...I'm so over the whole Dan and Serena thing. They're together, they're broken up, together, broken up, etc...Next week they each start dating other people (probably out of spite). I'm going to watch of course, but I'm not really that interested.

Tonight was the Big Brother season finale. Somehow my DVR messed up and I only got to see the last 12 minutes of the show. In case anyone cares, Dan was the winner. What I did see was pretty anti-climatic, but maybe it would have been more exciting if I had seen the build-up. I'm glad Dan won. He played a very smart game and I think he deserved it.

Tonight on 90210, they revealed who the father of Kelly's son is. I'm surprised they did it so soon, but maybe they realized that they could only refer to the father as "he" for so long. It's Dylan!!! That was my prediction. Kelly said that he's a do-gooder traveling the world, but then Brenda later said something about Kelly needing to "keep her story straight" so I don't know if that's the truth or not. I have a feeling we won't be seeing Luke Perry on the show anytime soon unless his declaration of having no interest in the show was a hoax. Or maybe they'll throw a ton of money at him...Also, apparently Donna has a baby. If they ever recast Dylan, I would be so pissed!

The character of Annie annoys the crap out of me which is kind of bad since she's pretty much the main character of the show. I don't understand why they're putting Naomi in such horrible clothes. Her hair, clothes, and makeup make her look about 10 years older (at least) than the character she's playing. I have no idea how old the actress is in real life, but it doesn't help that her acting skills aren't the greatest either. I'm not giving up though. I still have hope for this show. There's no way I could not watch this show. It was my obsession for 10 years!

I think there was one SV promo during 90210 tonight  and one for Supernatural too. There was at least one during Gossip Girl. Also, during last week's America's Next Top Model, I finally saw a commerical for Everybody Hates Chris and The Game. I don't watch these shows, but at least the CW finally remembered that they exist!

Two more days until SV!!! I'm so excited!!! It kills me that I live in the Mountain time zone now and that all of you East Coasters will be seeing the show before me!!!

90210, complaining, work, conspiracy theories, gossip girl, big brother
