Just paid for LJ again. Y'know, I heard about getting 100 free userpics if you renewed from a different account. But really, 43 is plenty, even for a visually-focused sort like myself. I should put more of my favorite artworks in, I always smile at Matisse sitting next to a post.

One of my friend-groups has two main modes of hanging out: roleplaying and karaoke. I'm still taking an extended break from roleplaying, except for the online chat I just rejoined. (Sidhe are open, incidentally.) And the big werewolf event which I just made travel arrangements for. But that's not much, compared to what I used to do.

So I went to karaoke last night. Argh. There was a time when I liked it a lot. Maybe if I'd gone and played a few games of pool I wouldn't have felt so bored. The song selection was poor, and the singing experience rather horrible. I like singing. I like how my voice sounds reverberating against trees and mountaintops. I like crooning to fires or singing people to sleep or to calmness. I hate how I sounded over speakers, trying to sing louder than the background music and just barely making it.

I know, the DJ's willing to get more stuff if you request specific songs, but I highly doubt I could guess what I'd want to sing a week or two in advance.

But I wish there was another standard "thing we do", because I loved getting to hang with Mikal, D, and Ezra.

In Macquairie Uni on my semester abroad, there were three or four "Hot Chocolate Nights". Four or five of us girls would go get hot cocoa at the mall a block away and have a good chat about nothing in particular. I miss that kind of hangout, but such things are always easier to do when you're living in dorms.

I'll deal. There's always LJ. :)
