Travis

I went to see Travis in Minneapolis over the weekend. More like, parklife417 had a birthday concert she'll never forget last Friday!

This was only my third time seeing Travis, but they never disappoint even if this was the smallest place I have ever seen them play.I could go see Travis many times in a row and never get bored with it. parklife417 and I got up front right in front of Dougie. Me being a Dougie girl and her being a Fran girl, we were in a good spot. They played songs off every album and then some. I was pleased with hearing "Flowers in the Window" again as it is my favorite song by then. Especially now, the way they sing it acoustically is amazing. That said, I really enjoy Fran's solo bit. Last time it was "20" and this time it was "Pipe Dreams" - fantastic stuff!

After the show, I really wanted parklife417 to meet the boys for her birthday so we hung around. Neil came out first, followed by Fran (who went on the wrong tour bus at first). Andy snuck in somewhere and Dougie came by listening to his ipod. A random drunk girl stopped Andy and said he was Travis so she wanted a picture with him. He was a good sport about it and took a picture with her. Dougie once again commented on my Abbey Road shirt even after I told him we'd met before. He smiled as if he remembered and then I mentioned how it was Kirstin's birthday. He wished her a happy b-day as they took a picture together and then Fran came up to us. He started telling Kirstin about her birthday and I could see the poor girl get glassy eyed just thinking how Fran was talking directly to her! They took a picture together and then Fran asked me if I wanted one. I told him I already had one and he said we needed to get an updated picture together. I was not going to argue and I handed the camera over to Kirstin. It was the perfect end to the perfect evening. I can only hope to have a birthday as fun as that some day! To see one of my fave bands on my day, nice!

The rest of the photos are here. As usual, please don't take them without asking first.
