I heard this story in a movie once. These marines were on a plane heading to what was then known as "Desert Shield" and one of the marines said to another: "Where I'm from, I thought by now I'd be either dead or in jail. But the shit of this is, this would be the day that I'd be getting out of jail."

I really don't know exactly how I feel right now.
