How much is that doggie in the window?
So walking back to my car after stopping by Cat's work I passed a pet shop. Like the song goes, there were a few dogs in the window display. The song is all cute and happy...these dogs didn't seem to be. Though the majority were asleep, the ones that were awake couldn't go 2 feet without having to worry about waking all the other dogs, so the awake ones either lay there with their eyes open or sat up with their heads dropping looking so pathetic. I didn't even notice 2 of them were dogs for a few minutes (they were sleep and matched the color of the mulch or whatever it was under them (in the dark at least.) It was just a very strange sight while having the song in my head.
My doggie, meanwhile, should be alright. We took her to the vet because she wasn't moving and wouldn't go out or eat or drink. Normally she's a rather bubbly dog in the morning, we couldn't even get her to wag her tail. Other than a fever and change in attitude they couldn't find anything wrong unless it's cancer, but they didn't think so and considering this vet office normally sucks us dry with various tests (we had to stop going to them for check-ups cuz they'd convince us to check for all this stuff they admitted later she didn't need) I considered the fact they didn't feel the need to do it as a very good sign. So they gave her doggy antibiotics for whatever infection is causing the fever and gave her back to us. She's not better yet, but at least she will be.
For those Huntsvillians interested in my return
I'll be in town from July 6th until July 11th. Longer than I intended but it's cheapest to show up and leave on weekdays that aren't Thursday or Friday. So if you're in town then let me know :0) I will be without transportation though, just to warn people.
And now off to JMU to harass err...I mean visit Dan!
