Y'know? Her birthdays make me feel older than my own do.

Yesterday was my widdle sister's 31st birthday. We went to a place here in Temecula called The Pizza Factory, which despite the uninspiring name, actually has really wonderful pizza. And Blue Moon on tap. You can order the pizza in whatever format you want: we got their version of a Supreme pizza with 1/3 of it veggies only, and a vegetarian spinach-garlic-white sauce pizza with 1/3 bacon. That one was TASTY. Normally at family dinners, Gramps pays, even when it's his birthday. But I knew that he had a present for Jenn and Jimmy and I didn't, so we bought dinner. My mom and my aunt ended up at the same end of the table (d'oh!) but no fighting, no biting. Afterward we went back to Jenn's house and had cake, brownies, AND ice cream, all made/provided by her hubby, Jeff, who had to work that night. Well, so did I. Got to have a great time first, though. I really love it when we manage to pull of a "normal" family occasion.

The change in Jenn's rescue dog, (I think his name is going to be Bodhi), in the week since I saw him last is really quite impressive: his feet are almost fully healed, he's walking normally, he's more energetic overall, and he's even lost some weight. That was nice to observe. Heartwarming. I forgot to get a picture because I was running out of time before I had to go to work. Trust me, he's a happy boy. And still one of the most beautiful coats I've ever felt.

love, family, jenn
