Last night, I found out that the client is taking measures to rid our site of cats. There are going to be humane traps set up to catch any cats on the property. This means my bewhiskered boyfriend, Larry. It is depressing to think of him not being there any longer, (so many of us love him - he's become our little mascot), but even worse is the speculation on what may happen to him afterward. He is such a lovable sweetie, he'd have a better than average shot at being adopted. But still.
If ever I have fallen in love with a cat, it is this cat. Boy, is the timing rotten for this to happen. I am simply in no position to take on the financial responsibility for everything he needs. For one thing, he's not fixed, and I certainly can't afford any vet bills.
Still, all night I've been entertaining fantasies of bringing him home. I hope one of the other guards who really like him may break down and do it. The only thing is, now there is a time limit, as the traps will be set tonight. It shows how much everyone likes him that we have been warned not to release any cat that is caught, or "suffer the consequences."
This sucks.
