What a day, what a day, 27 and turning gray ...
Today has been somewhat less than wonderful. Last night I dreamed I was making out with Carrot Top. In addition to that, it's just too damn HOT. It's been in the low 90's since 8:30 a.m. Did I mention that we do NOT have air conditioning? And that part of Nana's personal mission in life is to make sure that the house is sealed up like a tomb? Aieeeeee!
I did some cooking today. It'd been awhile. It's been too damn hot to want to turn on any appliance that produces heat. So, ironically, I decided to go for it today. This morning I made omelettes with mozarella, yellow Roma tomatos, and basil. And for lunch I took some leftover chicken and tossed it in a balsamic vinaigrette with bowtie pasta and veggies. Woo. I can't believe how many dirty dishes those two meals created ... I had to run the dishwasher just from this one day's worth of cooking. More heat in the house! Argh!
Today is my mom's 53rd birthday. Yesterday evening I was going with her and my niece to the circus to celebrate, but our karma went all to crap on the way down there. Eventually we recovered and opted for the Zoo instead. It was pretty cool. I got to see the Jungle Dreams show that I'd been hearing about since last summer. And extra good news: for reasons unbeknownst to me, Ma decided to buy me a Zoo/Wild Animal Park membership. So I got the hook-up! Every dark lining has a silver cloud.
Gotta go. I want to be home when Ma calls to let us know where she wants to have dinner tonight. And I should probably pick her up a card while I'm out. Ciao. I stand corrected: Salve
