The Other
The Other is a vast sentient entity that exists outside of the Guardian and the Omniverse. It works in favour of neither the Guardian nor Entropy, for reasons beyond our understanding. Many hypotheses have sprung up in the wake of a proper explanation, but none are confirmed fact. The Other does not seem to employ agents of any kind, instead choosing to divert either Agents of The Guardian, or followers of the Church of the Order Bringer (who unwittingly serve the will of Entropy), from their appointed tasks. The Other is particularly adept at playing these two factions off against one another, achieving goals no one could predict.
While the Other's agenda may be unknown, it is clear that the Other does seem to be working in the interests of the living beings of the Omniverse, even at the expense of goals that further the agenda of The Guardian. It would seem that the Other sees Its judgement as superceding even that of the creator of the Omniverse itself. This precarious relationship is not fully understood by anyone alive, as none have knowingly had contact with the corporeal being of the Other.
Few are ever aware of when their machinations have been coopted by the Other, although a few experienced and scholarly Agents (The Author, The Librarian) have begun compiling a detailed databank tracing possible Other incursions, in the hope of divining Its modus operandi.
