This week is the week between Christmas and New Year's, in case it wasn't obvious from the calendar. I thought that I might do something of a real update. Facebook seems to get most of my online presence attention, but I want to try to maintain LJ a little bit.

Things continue to be somewhat busy these days. ( Weekend, work stuff, family, and neighbors... )

There isn't a whole lot going on these days. We should probably be more motivated to work on the house, but we're not. We do stuff in our own, slow pace. Work is typical. Last night I met up with three of my cousins (Rob, Jim, and Don) for dinner and drinks. We met at Bastone in Royal Oak. Nice place, but a little pricey. They have a bunch of micro-brews, many of which supposedly win awards. We had a good time. There were only a few lulls in conversation. They're a pretty good bunch of guys ( Read more... )

Little Augusta is doing well. Jaime took her in to the vet for "the works": spay, declaw, microchip implant, deworming. Not a fun event for her, I'm sure. In general, she's been doing great in the garage. She seems happy to see us, although she's still a kitten and wants to go outside and explore. I'll pick her up tomorrow afternoon ( Read more... )

I was totally surprised by an email notification I got from Facebook today: "Corey Fields added you as a friend on Facebook". That's right, Corey "Magic Muttonchops" Fields is still alive. He pretty much dropped off the face of (my view of) the Earth several years back. No one had heard anything about or from him. His email address didn't work ( Read more... )
