So this past weekend I trundled southerly and me and RM and the middle elder sibling attended Gencon.
Went to some panels, floundered hopelessly through the dealer's room, ate out of food trucks and a surprisingly nice Japanese place, admired many cosplayers but didn't get many pictures, and spent a truly ridiculous amount of time just wandering from place to place. Saw most of one extremely funny Australian film, went to a panel-that-wasn't that turned into a really interesting conversation that then continued into a different room with fewer people, and saw a decent amount of the cosplay competition, which was pretty good, with some really amazing cosplay that I got no pictures of.
Also there was some very silly messing around involving a floor-length trenchcoat that you could throw sidekicks in. There is some video of said messing around available 'neath the cut.
Also I got 20(ish? RM was the one keeping count) compliments on my Labyrinth shirt on Friday, and one hug and multiple pic requests on Saturday for Riku-ing. Sadly I didn't really run into any of the other KH cosplayers who were apparently there, and I missed the costume parade. And I got a couple of compliments on my Sunday shirt as well!
Because some things you will never escape. There was also a giant inflated chibi thing of the Zexal protagonist that we didn't get a picture of because dear god why.
No idea who this was, but he was standing there, and so were we, so.
Note the Scottish stormtroopers and the awesome Leia-in-disguise.
Cloud and Riku say DERP DERP DERP because it is pretty much impossible to pose when you're not sure which camera you're supposed to be looking at.

RM was very fascinated with Cardhalla.
She contributed a building!
And then all of this lovely construction was destroyed on Saturday night for charity
Also in some places there was street art
Also this Poison Ivy cosplayer got a lot of attention and was probably cold
The dealer helped design this pose, which was very uncomfortable to hold
And then at last I got to pose normally, even though RM made me do it in a fighting stance 'cause the other ones apparently didn't look cool enough
Warning: This vid contains footage of me being a total derp, along with the middle elder sibling, with RM cheering us on in our derpiness. The very nice braid my hair is in is also courtesy of RM, since I do not know how to do anything with my hair other than put it in a ponytail and turn the ends of it different colors. It also contains me and the middle elder sibling complaining about moves we can't do because neither of us are anywhere anything near in practice and we were both wearing jeans.
Coat was hot but super-easy to move in. It was really nice.
In conclusion, never before have I seen so many women in corsets.
