St Ethelburga - prep

Nov 23, 2007 07:05

Well who knew that 120 candles could be so bloody heavy!

The preparations for the feast of St Ethelburgas is going well and I think it is on track.  I bought some wonderful candle holders earlier in the month and I have been hunting for reasonably cheap long candles, the first try of getting sainburys basic was a complete failure.  However, from the wonderful but rather strange shop Butlers (who are a German firm and don't have many branches in the UK) I found some quality ones cheaply.  I bought 3 last week to test out and they were excellent so yesterday on the way home from work I bought 3 boxes of 40 for 10 quid (in total rather than each) !  Great value but it nearly killed me getting them home from Islington!!

Also last Saturday a few of us spent the afternoon in Archway painting table cloths and they are looking excellent!  Really splendid.

Here is a photo me drinking tea and the very excellent table cloths.

More painting at next weeks revel
