Where the Wild Things Are
Oh, those Wild Things. Anything that takes place on the island! I love this idea of them coming completely undone by emotions: longing, anger, love. A coming of age story for a Wild Thing? A Wild Thing perspective on Max? What happens after he leaves? I am fine with some Original Charactering or something very atmospheric. Have fun with this vivid, emotional landscape!
Dark is Rising
My favorite book is Greenwich, though I read and loved each and every one of them. Some innocent Will/Jane would not go amiss. One of the Drew siblings meeting up with Will once they are grown up would be awesome (dealing with the fog of memory for them and whether Will has the resolve to stay isolated/anonymous). Will’s family is very fun too, so maybe another birthday adventure with him living his double life. Merriman’s relationship with each of the children would be interesting to look into, especially Bran and Will. Pretty much love the characters and the world, so you can’t go wrong!
Young Justice
Oh, I am pretty obsessed with Young Justice. Love all the characters, but especially the original team. Wally’s such as silly, dorky kiddo! I love his brash voice and perspective. He and Artemis are so different, but are really sweet together. Either one of them discussing the other would be awesome (not in Wally’s eulogy though. That would be too sad… maybe in Artemis’ fake eulogy or her watching him as Tigress while she is undercover). Artemis working with Green Arrow or Batman would also make my day or Wally’s friendship with a certain Dick Grayson. Does Wally agree that Dick is the team’s natural leader? Why does he decide to leave the team?
Flora Segunda
Girl’s got spirit! I am interested in her childhood with Idden, with a strong taste of Flora’s bold naivety! Or maybe Idden’s perspective on everything, because I could probably read a whole series on Idden as well. I have questions about who introduced Flora to the Ranger books and how her family reacted when she went head-over-heels for Nini Mo. Flora makes it very difficult for her family to act on their protective instincts and besides, they each have their own lives and problems, but I am sure that each one of the family loves her and wants what’s best for her (and has their own vision of what that would be). Adding in some domestic details and some magick, mystery or adventure would be very in keeping with the world of the Fyrdraccas
Magic School Bus
I love everything about the eccentric Miss Frizzle. She stays above the kid’s drama and takes them to the edge of their comfort zones. Her snazzy dresses and earrings are the coolest. Something with science and plot would be perfect for me! A little bickering between the kids or a major adventure on the bus. Awkward cute crushes are about as far as I want any relationships to go. I also LOVE the little reports by the students and so maybe even a fic that describes the research/writing process with asides and comments.
