It felt familiar here, like a lost little memory, almost like that jaunt Bell once took while walking his dog on the Fourth Floor. One of the trees was already alight and he watched for the bark to curl and char and for the life of the tree to melt away into ashes, but it never did. It was an oddly eternal flame and then suddenly it seemed to have burned itself out, leaving the tree still standing unmarred in its place.

Bell ran his fingers along the bark, tracing the patterns of the wood, then continued along until he found a clearing ahead.

Watching Spring train was like watching Gai go through his own kata. It was powerful, passionate, though considerably less sexy in its mini form. It was admirable, and Bell felt a pang of well, he wouldn't exactly call it 'parental' nor teacherly some kind of pride. Not that Bell could have ever had a hand in fueling anything that determined, he was certain; maybe he just spent too much time around Gai. Spring made Bell feel both hopeful and concerned at the same time, like viewing a ( ... )

Spring felt the presence of someone familiar coming his way. Bell. Someone he trusted, even if they didn't always see eye to eye about things. He didn't stop in his training as Bell approached, but he kept his ears open for any words.

The teasing remark wasn't unexpected. Spring responded in-between strikes to the post. "It is. Not meant. To fight. Back."

His form was about as close as perfect could get. Spring's movements were not calculated as much as they were well-learned. Ingrained in his subconscious, somewhere even the Tree hadn't been able to reach and destroy. These kata were what necessitated bandages around his arms constantly, but Spring kept going. Because training was part of who he was.

"Why do you. Not train. Along with me. Bell-san?"

Chibiusa wandered lost as lost could be. Just a moment ago, she was in the Crystal palace and now, in a forest, still dressed in her princess regalia. She picked the edges of her dress up as she skittered about.

Well until a tree exploded. She let out a yelp, jumping then bumping into a tree, eventually rolling ungracefully into the clearing. "Owie." She rubbed her butt then looked to see her pretty dress all dirty. So much for being a graceful lady.

The cry stopped Spring mid-punch. He recognized that voice. Looking up, he managed to see his adopted little sister roll her way into his clearing. At first, he was worried she might be hurt. At least she didn't seem to be crying.

He rushed to her side, holding a hand out towards her. "Chibiusa-san! Please, let me help you."

[Sorry this is so late! ;n; I got sick, then got swamped with all my tags.]

She wasn't crying at all, just surprised and a bit dirty. "Thanks, oniichan~!" she smiled up at him, taking his hand, and somehow managing to stand up despite the layers of ruffles and tulle. She brushed the dust off her dress. "What are you doing out here?"

[ all good. I hope you're feeling better! ]

Thankful that she seemed relatively unhurt, he helped her up and patiently waited for her to finish her primping before smiling and answering her.

"I am training! As a ninja, it is imperative that I keep in tip-top shape and never let my guard down!" He pumps his fist in his excitement, punctuating just about every other word with a vigorous punch at the air. He's really into this training thing.

"What of you, Little Sister? Did you come to train too?"

[Doing better yes, thank you! <3 Still slow at tagging, though |D ]

Ginko stood still, admiring the scenery. Everything was so alive here; you could see the life throbbing everywhere you looked. A small deer approached him and, when he didn't move, it sniffed his hand.

He started violently as the tree directly next to him spontaneously combusted. The deer took flight at his sudden movement, and he backed away, eye wide--

He blinked. The tree, still burning merrily, didn't seem to be actually affected by the blaze. He could still see the leaves through the flames, whole and unblackened. "Huh." That was definitely something you didn't see every day.

A distant 'Hyah!' sound drew his attention away from the tree (which had just stopped burning as abruptly as it had started, anyway), and he turned, following the noise. Maybe it would be someone who could tell him about the un-burning trees.

Spring sensed another visitor in his dreamscape, someone not completely unfamiliar, but not the most recognizable signature. It wasn't chakra he was picking up. Just an awareness that someone he knew from somewhere was fast approaching.

He ceased his training and turned to see Ginko making his way closer. He didn't notice the change, but just seeing Ginko made cat ears and tail manifest upon him. It wasn't a subtle change, but the abruptness of it didn't bother him at all.

"Ginko-san! Good day to you!" He waved at his friend, then started walking his way with his tail swishing happily behind him. No need to make the other man walk the entire way when they could meet in the middle.

Ginko smiled when the younger man came into view. His own ears and tail, apparently triggered by the appearance of Spring's, also came into being without Ginko really noticing.

His ears pricking forward in pleased interest, he slowed his pace a touch. "Hey, Spring." Once they were close enough to talk comfortably he stopped, hands in his pockets and tail lazily swishing back and forth. "It's been a while."

Ginko suddenly had cat-like features again too, but this was nothing new or surprising. In fact, Spring would have to wonder if they hadn't been there the whole time.

The older man was a bit quiet, but most people seemed quiet when they stood next to Spring or Gai. He seemed at ease enough, however. Spring's own ears twitched forward in attentiveness as he neared. "It has! I am glad to see you again, Ginko-san. Have you come to train as well?"

Spring was always looking for new challenges, but even if Ginko wasn't the fighting type they could at least have a good day here in the forest of eternal springtime.
