It was at least another five minutes before Neil was able to make it to Smoke's. Having been surprisingly busy for a Sunday, time got away from him before he realized he needed to get ready and head out to meet Bastet. It was strange to be going out for the specific purpose of seeing her when, for a while, he had been so used to hoping not to run in to her. But he was glad things had changed.

Stepping inside, he suspected she might be there already, but he still took a moment to get himself situated. He removed the hood and unzipped his coat, looking around a bit. It wasn't until then that he realized he had worn the sweater she had picked out for him. It had been a coincidence-- it was one of the warmest things he had at the same time as being one of Target's favourites on him, and they had gone to the range that afternoon despite the cold. He smirked to himself: at least he wouldn't be hard to spot.

Bastet had found a table a little out of the way, positioning herself so she could see the door. She was just standing to take off her coat when Neil came in, and she raised an arm, waving to let him know she was there.

She still wore her cap, as the bar was a little chilly for her tastes; she'd likely warm up as soon as she had some wine.

He spotted her as he looked around, waving back as he slung his coat over his arm and headed over.

Once at the table he put his coat over the back of the chair. "How are you? Had a good weekend?" He was determined that nothing about this would be awkward.

"Oh, not bad. More work than I would have liked, but sometimes it just can't be helped." It had been a while since the Wilderness had anything to loot, and her supplies were starting to run low. So she'd needed to talk to people to have things made, which always took longer.

Like Neil, she put her coat over the back of her chair before sitting down once more. "And you? How are things?"

As he sat, he looked off to try to catch the eye of a waiter, but quickly looked back again at her questioning.

"Good, good. Things have been...fairly laid back." It was true, he had been pretty relaxed over the past few days, but there was the little issue of the interesting things showing up in the journals; he had been keeping a closer watch than normal.

"Weekends tend to leave me restless though. I'd probably go to work every day if Krile didn't make me take my time off."
