Summary: Victory is alive again.
Handmaiden shut the journal quickly. Habit led her to snatch up her quarterstaff and clip it to her belt before she left the temporary housing unit at the midpoint between a walk and a run. Thoughts raced through her head--she had not asked Victory if she was all right; that was rather a pointless question, as it seemed that rebirth in Edensphere healed whatever wounds or injuries caused a person's death. In fact, Handmaiden had not asked her much of anything. It was something for which words were entirely insufficient.
Some part of her, not a concious thought, wondered if seeing Victory would end the memories of seeing her burn. She did not think it would be so easy. Handmaiden had seen Pinky burn alive and had been there when she was reborn without so much as a hint of the horrific way she had been killed. That had not stopped her from seeing it again when her mind had nothing else to occupy itself.
She stepped out of the elevator onto the Access Point, looking around for Victory and trying to rid herself of the memory of the last time she had seen the warrior, burning alive in her arms.
