She wasn't gone. He kept that thought with him as he searched through the sphere. Bastet was here. Those two boys had pointed out the most of unlikely things, something she would never do. Not intentionally. She was...like him. They both walked the path of soldiers, upholding order and maintaining their duty. For the people, some part of him whispered.

He agreed with it as he stepped into housing. Burn my back. He still didn't understand that line yet it rang with the same kind of sense of duty. Prevent another destroyer from rising into the world, bring it to peace. Carve your mark in history as the one who drenched the world in flames and...what?

He knew the answer somewhere. Just like he saw the signs of a soldier pushed too far. He could only protect those close to him, and they in turn protect others. Bastet needed someone to tell her to rest. He was sure of that, as he came to stand before her house. Snap could vaguely remember someone had lost it in the field. He didn't want to see her hurt like that, not without being there to shoulder her through it.

She'd dealt with enough, her staff and his could handle the rest. He produced the key she gave him a bit back and ran his thumb over the edges of the metal. He might be intruding, yet he hadn't found her anywhere. He had to check inside. Surely, she'd understand he had to thorough. With reluctance to know if she was gone like the many on the lists in his office, he unlocked the door and stepped inside.
