Newbies
Monday July 11...the girls were misbehaving horrible this weekend and today! We had to have a huge huddle up about their behavior. Amanda ran on her pass this weekend and when she came back she was punching Paige. That poor girl takes so much from them and one day she's going to stand up to them so that they know she can fight back. It's ridiculous their behavior which is way below their maturity level! It was not a fun day dealing with all the drama!
Tuesday, Well Aaron's not coming to the lake...as you will tell from the post I've made otherwise. I won't rant on that since that's a whole seperate post! So one of the girls today was singing "I know a song that gets on everybody's nerve" over and over to annoy everyone else. Well I jumped in and said "Ya know what my favorite song is, "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and I just started singing it. Well, Wanda jumped in and we started singing it as a round. Pretty soon all the girls were singing and the Nerves song was gone. It was hysterical. I used it again when LaKeisha was singing during her sleep trying to get her to quiet down or at least change her song. Considering her level, it didn't work so well but at least I had fun trying. JJ and Angel joked and played around with me today which was really unusual. They were treating me like they would Ms. Torre. It was awesome! It's great getting respect and admiration from the girls in a huge way now. I can only hope I've impacted their lives in some positive manner.
Wednesday was the Career Fair. It was cool getting to see the girls talk with people about various jobs even if it wasn't exactly what they wanted to do. They were very professional (most of them anyways) which was a definite change for us to see!
Friday we got a new girl who has a two year old child through a rape. We don't know a whole lot about her but she was showing pics of her son and the birthdad's # fell out so I had to take it to the counselor because they aren't allowed to have phone numbers. Today the girls decided to make a huge story up about how Mr. Damron, Ms. Laura, and myself were having a threesome. They were really upset about it and are telling our supervisor tomorrow. I didn't realize that I was doing it with another girl and an older black man. They always say that black men are bigger...guess I should know apparantly ;) Next week I'm sure will be interesting!
Saturday, I went home to be with Aaron. I was missing him like crazy and since he can't come to the lake I wanted to see him. So, I went home while my parents were gone for their anniversary. We had a great time hanging out together at the house. We enjoyed the time we had snuggling on my bed together and I even got a few things done for the anniversary party the following weekend. I left really early Sunday morning to drive back. It was great getting to snuggle in his arms again. I've missed that this summer!
