And what about those who are neither crazy nor sane? Those who linger between the barriers of sanity and madness and never quite belong? Really they have the advantage as most people see only two options: a painful reality or a half crazed fantasy. They live in shades of grey between the black and the white of existence as they have no limitations on what they can see or hear.
‘A little bit of madness’ one whispers to the next, ‘or a little bit of reality?’
They tread the passage that connects the two worlds and by wandering with the wind they blur the perceptions of what is real and what is not, allowing the sane few of us who fear for our minds to breathe in ease, comforted by the knowledge of a society accepted middle ground. But are the crazies really crazy and have they really lost their minds? The voices, the anger, the panic driven meltdowns… a stranger filled night where shadows start to move and reality is overcome with calamity. The lunacy of the mind has awoken, it’s replaced logic and certainty and maybe, just maybe to live in complete sanity is to live in an abyss where insane thoughts are the logical explanation for a sane and calm existence.

And maybe those who kept their minds never really had them to loose and the world of which they walk freely upon is the greatest asylum of all as it prevents imagination and open-mindedness. Enclosed by invisible barriers that prevent truth and knowledge from seeping though, their minds may be calm but live in ignorance they do. Reality for them is one dimensional; they fail to see what can be and fear what they are not. But is the fantasy they fear the reality of the fanatical world or is this entire passage bat ass crazy?
