wherein Liz anticipates a shifting of gears

I am this close to being done with photos and videos for 2020!

...By which I mean done with taking them, of course. Now I get to turn my attention to editing them and uploading them to our website, as well as maybe getting back to my long-abandoned project of creating Shutterfly albums as a repository of all the photos that don't fit on our website.

And tracking down the lost floor plans for [redacted building name], the lack of which has been bugging me more and more over the year.

Oh, and gearing up for the 2022-23 rental season.

And a bunch of background data entry and organization that mostly got tossed under the bus during the press of turnover season.

So yeah, it will be slower work, and will involve MUCH less hauling staging materials hither and yon in gross heat and humidity, but it's not like I'll be sitting around twiddling my thumbs or anything.

...

I need to text Nick, Cat, and Susan and say, hey, I have begun to emerge from a deluge of work and would like to talk to you again -- let's schedule a phone call! Because I am the person who schedules phone calls in those relationships, and since I've been buried, no phone calls have happened.

(I don't especially like being the person who schedules phone calls, but dammit, somebody has to do that and apparently nobody else will step up to the plate, so. *sigh* Nick does initiate text conversations at irregular intervals, but that's not an ideal medium for a lengthy 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH *flump*' session or even a 'let me talk a bunch of story options at you because they're getting snarled in the silence of my own head and I need to untangle them' session. Face-to-face is best, but phone calls are second best -- partly because vocal tone and pacing are important, but also because I cannot type fast enough with my thumbs on a phone keyboard to keep up with my thoughts, and voice-to-text is unsatisfactory.)

...

Lastly, church also continues to be A LOT, but all I can say right now is that I made it to 2/3 of tonight's retreat session (in the Cass Park pavilion) after work, and will hopefully make it to 1/3 of tomorrow morning's retreat session via Zoom before I head into work. For the rest, confidentiality remains a thing. *wry* If you want to comment on this post, you can do so over here on Dreamwidth, where there are currently (
