He's not exactly sure how he ended up here. Normally Clint is pretty clear-headed -- recent run-ins with Norse gods aside -- and normally he'd pride himself on it, but right now he can't spare the energy to be annoyed with himself. Not when he has Steve Rogers in his arms, nibbling on his earlobe and saying embarrassingly sappy shit that Clint just knew he would say, but didn't realise would turn him inside out -- not that he ever really thought about it, not that he ever really expected this to happen at all.
He's not so confused by this whole situation that he can't find things to do with his hands, though: he runs his fingers through Steve's hair, traces fingertips down the back of his neck, runs them over those broad shoulders and down his back and cups his ass, squeezes. He didn't expect the little gasp that shocks from Steve, a hot puff of air against his ear, but he files it away mentally to be examined and re-examined at a later date --
"I knew it," Natasha says, sounding far too triumphant.
"Tasha," he says, warningly, letting Steve jerk away from him with a resolve that could stand up to anything. Almost anything. Well, he does reach out and grab Steve's wrist, curling his fingers round it.
"Stark owes me a hundred dollars," she says, ignoring any quibbles, and as quickly as she snuck up on them she's gone, presumably to go and collect. Steve clears his throat awkwardly.
"Uh," he starts, intelligently. "Well, I -- "
Clint doesn't want to talk about it. He doesn't want his brain to catch up to what his body's doing. He reels Steve back in and pulls him down for a kiss.
They can sort out whys and wherefores later.
