Summary: Ellone's gone, and Squall is all alone. Right? For
feywood, for getting up on time.
"You're stupid," Seifer said, enunciating clearly. Nobody else reacted, so Squall popped his head up from under the covers. Seifer was sat on the foot of his bed. He smirked -- which, even at barely five years old, he was already quite accomplished at -- and said, in a sing-song voice, "I'm all alone, but I'm doing my best..."
"Shut up," Squall said, his hands clenched in his covers. His hair was still damp, sticking to his face, and there was a suspicious dampness to his cheeks that might have been the remnants of rain water, or something else.
"I'll be okay without you, Sis," Seifer says, and then he pokes Squall's ankle before any other reaction could come. "You're a dummy. You're not on your own."
Squall scowled at him -- at five years old, his scowl hadn't reached its full potential, but it was very, very promising. But Seifer wasn't even looking. He was kicking off his shoes and crawling into the bed next to Squall.
"You're stupid. And cold. So I'd better warm you up." Seifer hugged Squall a little roughly, rested a bony chin on his shoulder. "Do I gotta say it?"
Squall didn't answer, so Seifer hugged him a bit tighter, squeezing the breath out of him.
"You're never gonna be alone, okay? I know Sis is gone, but I'm not. I'm never gonna go. I promise."
