Into my world of black and white
And a thousand shades of gray
I heard the colors of your words
And all you had to say

You spoke of hope and promise
Like mornings golden skies
But darkness slips thru crimson lips
That speak in little white lies

Lavender tones not consoling
When rolled off a jaded tongue
Rosy words browned with deceit
yellow a truth gone wrong

And as your voice begins to fade
Your words have lost their hue
Your vivid palette turns pastel
As my world fades to blue
