I tend to be very picky about what anime I watch, and tonight I am reminded of a time before you could watch anything you wanted on the computer. This was before anime clubs, and fansubs. What you saw on TV was what you got. I had the bar set high by KTEH, popping my anime cherry with Urusei Yatsura and Evangelion. All the more conventional

(For the record, I've been watchin' 'em on DVD, so the "just" in that first sentence is only relevant for me, but still, this is bound to happen eventually for all the people watching on Sci-Fi. If it stays on the air long enough.)
So I kinda realize that being a fanboy in general is kind of the antithesis of Evangelion...or at least that's the way I enterpreted it, but because I can say I have enterpreted it I think that right there is enough to prove I'm a fanboy...
But why is that?
Short answer is, it was the only thing avaliable at the time.
It's kind of interesting to me. Evangelion was probably one of the last good anime to be done entirely on film. How will this update work in comparison? Will we be able to stand any of the voices? I don't know. It will be interesting to see how a bigger budget (and perhaps better, or at least digital tools) will
