Am currently with my parents at a hotel in Ann Arbor. We left at 4am this morning to drive my brother back to Michigan for his sophomore year. He seems to have nice friends, his dorm room situation is... well, we'll see how he deals with it. Close quarters. His frat house is like the Munger living room, only gross. City seems nice so far. Dinner tonight was excellent.

So excellent in fact, that I shall devote an entiremultiple paragraphs to it. Mediterrano in Ann Arbor. Mmmmmm good. For appetizer, I had the most interesting 'salad'. Roasted(?) peaches with smoked bacon and gorgonzola cheese. Wow, good. As the waitress said, prefect mix of salty and sweet.

Dinner was:
MICHIGAN BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI
Ravioli stuffed with roasted, Michigan butternut squash & parmesan cheese. Tossed with sauce of fresh cream, caramelized onion, garlic, pecans, oregano & dry sherry.

Aaaalmost finished it, but then had two pieces left and was almost full, so considering how good everything had been, I was assuming there'd be some amazing desserts and gave up on the entree.

Dessert was creme brulee, and after the disaster that was LAST night's attempt (seriously, it was the most fail creme brulee ever), this was amazing. Plus some baklava and a lemony cake thing. My parents totally gave up on finishing and I couldn't manage all of it. But the creme crulee, mmmmmm.

Have not had such good food in quite a while.

I am liking Michigan so far. XD
