A better day.

Most of the holiday was spent with family and friends I haven't seen in months.

This New Year Eve's celebration was the best. For all my years of living in Toronto, this was the first time visiting Nathan Phillips Square for the countdown. Why I had not done this sooner, couldn't tell you.

It was awesome. One of those events you look back in years to come, and laugh at the ridiculousness of the entire situation and the people who were there with you. The next morning, I could only wish it wasn't Sunday.

I do remember looking up at the sky at the end of the countdown and seeing all these white ballons floating away into the night. It was incredible.

My supervisor tried to make amends today because of how they are aware that good people will eventually leave. He knew or at least was aware of some tension between myself and a few managers regarding their requirement to sacrifice one's personal life for the firm.

In both tax and audit: I may be doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results in personal-life balance. Maybe, the variable I need to remove is the firm.
