So...the Pan American Games are
currently taking place in Brazil. Who knew?
Probably not many folks here, since ESPN has better things to show...like the frickin' world series...of POKER. That is SO not a sport!
So, Friday at 1 pm, while the rest of the hemisphere is looking to find out who will win the gold medal in men's soccer...I'll be scouring the internet for a play-by-play.
Did I mention that Ecuador is playing in that final? For a chance at their first soccer championship. Because they already beat BRAZIL at home.
Yeah, that's pretty amazing. Too bad I won't be able to see it, much less be in Ecuador to party if they win.
But wait, ESPN2's gotta show this, right? even if it's a 3 am replay? WRONG! The extent of coverage on ESPN 1 and 2 combined: "ESPN Deportes will produce a daily one-minute segment for ESPN’s Sports Center with highlights of the Pan Am Games during the last two weeks of July."
Grumble grumble.
Maybe one of the local ecuadorian restaurants has a dish.
Stupid ESPN.
When exactly did I turn into a rabid sports fan?
