Just got news that my godson came out of his tests ok. Still don't know what's wrong with him, poor guy, but at least that one's over with. Anesthesia is just scary. So yay for him being alright.
More good news. I got another internship interview!!!!!!! And it's at the place that, on paper at least, is an AMAZING match for me. I'm trying to keep an open mind, and I really like all my sites, but if I had to rank them all, site unseen, this would be in the top 2. They're a children's hospital that has a pediatric/adolescent HIV rotation, an outreach program in the school system, a strong research program, great training in family therapy, some Spanish-speaking clients...it's just awesome. And it's in Chicago. It's strange, because Chicago is cold and not exactly where I thought I'd want to be next year, but over the past month or so the idea of living there has been growing on me, quite a bit. Especially being there over Thanksgiving, despite the cold. There's a really cool social-justice focused Catholic group for young adults there, I went on retreat with them a couple of years back and met some amazing people, and I still get these emails about all the stuff going on with them. Plus, my awesome cousins are around the area, and there are a few old friends up in the area, so the idea of living there for a year keeps growing more attractive. I don't want to get my hopes up, but this could be really, really cool.
In other, completely unrelated news...I went clothes shopping today, for only the 2nd time all year. (I have been so good since I got back from Ecuador!) And I bought these cute and comfy black clogs, and a pink blouse that will work for internship.. Every once in a rare while, I have to admit, I enjoy being a girly girl.
And in slightly scary but mostly good news - kitty surgery is this Friday. I'm a little nervous but trying not to think about it too much. Kitty is doing fine. I'll update after I know how it went.
