The latest from Ecuador
First, it is THREE degrees here. And dropping. Ecuador's in the 70's. Can I go back now, please?
The good news: I got to speak with three of my amazing godkids last night.
The not-so-good news: One of them is going into the hospital Wednesday (later today) for some medical tests. It's probably nothing major, but he's been having some recurrent problems and nobody can figure out what's going on, so they're doing some test that involves general anesthesia that no one seems to know enough about to explain to me. So...a little scary. Please send some prayers/warm thoughts/good vibes his way. In my experience, Ecuadorian hospitals are not pleasant even in the best of circumstances.
And even though me being there would change absolutely nothing, I really, really wish I could just go right now.
