its the new year... about a week and a half in... and its the same old as always. we make resolutions to do new things, but its all fluff. why? because relying on a calendar change to make a character change is an internal flaw, one that goes against the nature of gradual shifts of personality and makeup. i believe its near impossible to make a dramatic change (i.e. whatever made you think a giant change in the first place must require alot of effort and energy) because its too overwhelming to do in such a short period of time. unless you put a plan into place to make it very slowly, you will must likely not see the results you want and will give up, the hallmark of humanity.
rather, id like to make short term resolutions, things i can handle in the short term and not have to worry about a month from now. id like to wash my car. thats a good start. and buy some new bedsheets. something simple and practical, but a change nonetheless. as for personal changes, ive already started working out in dec, so its not a big shift to keep it going. id much prefer to keep it up than deal with starting from scratch. so, ill do that.
but no resolutions from me.
