Protests, marches and expectations

Feb 20, 2017 21:43

Dear everyone,

If you participate in a protest or march, then be prepared for extreme consequences. If you participate in a strike or walk out, be prepared for the consequences. You may end up in jail, the hospital, sued for any number of reasons, or yes, lose your job.

I don't say the Immigration Day Walk Out was a bad idea, but I'm not sure people really got what the repercussions could be. Extreme actions, can be met with extreme reactions. If you want to resist, there's most likely someone prepared to push back against you. Ladies if you are going to be part of the A Day Without A Woman strike, you are taking a stand of resistance and aggression. Be ready. Any anarchist, or occupier can tell how it works. When they participate in an action, they know that they are that committed to their cause. Your boss can fire you, refuse to pay you for vacation or sick day (it'll be a bit obvious if you try to be fake sick and have been very vocal about the entire action), be irritated enough to cut your hours, put you on some sort of warning situation. It isn't a hard core statement if everyone is prepared for you to not be there and creates a work around, now is it? The idea is to be an inconvenience, to be annoying, to make people stand up and notice your lack of presence. Get it? I hope so. Think carefully about any sort of participation in any action, you should to be part of. How much are you willing to sacrifice to make that harsh statement that folks will notice?

Be strong. Resist. Be smart.
